Rarotonga May 2023

Whakaora Yoga are thrilled to be returning to the locally owned and managed Sokala Villas right on the beach in Muri lagoon and combine plentiful yoga and some amazing included activities.

Your retreat will be for six nights and you will have time to relax by the private pools, take a kayak to explore the nearby islands and wander down to the nearby cafes, market and restaurants.

We expect this retreat to quickly fill – it can be just for you, you and a yoga friend or you and your non-yoga partner.

Your Yoga Retreat

For this six-night yoga focused retreat, after our sunrise yoga practice in a covered yoga area and full breakfast on our dining deck each day, we will provide a range of included activities to explore the island’s culture, nature, and beauty as well as more yoga practices. We know that you like our intimate retreats, so this bespoke event is limited to no more than twelve yogis in shared double chalets.

In 2023 we are again planning to sea-scooter to meet turtles, explore the island by foot or on bike, laugh through SUP yoga and night paddle, kayak, and be taught to ura dance by a local expert or just simply relax by the pools.

The yoga, food, culture, location and the activities - everything will be focused towards your personal growth.

The Details

The retreat will run for six nights from 22-28 May (NZ Dates) and tie into morning departures from Aotearoa. Remember that Rarotonga is 22 hours behind Aotearoa.

Meals – All breakfasts and half of the lunches and evening meals are included and will be vegetarian / pescatarian. The Muri lagoon is blessed with excellent cafes, restaurants and a night market - all in walking distance - so to encourage you to explore we will make recommendations for other meals. Rarotonga also has numerous high end eateries that you may wish to visit; and each villa has a fully equipped kitchen so you have the option of foraging for yourself from local bakeries, market stalls and shops.

Activities – We are including several activities that we are sure you will enjoy, expect to get wet and possibly muddy, as well as experiencing the very best that Rarotonga has to offer.

Travel - You will need to arrange your own travel, we will provide shuttle transfers to meet the flight at the start and end of the retreat.
Extending your stay - After your retreat we hope that you will want to extend your stay in Rarotonga, there are so many other places to explore. There will be a special rate available for you to stay a few nights longer in your villa at Sokala. We highly recommend visiting the beautiful island of Aitutaki – either the fantastic one-day tour from Raro, or staying at one of the exclusive island resorts.
Pricing – The investment in your Yoga retreat will be $3,100 per person price based on a shared lagoon view room. We will advise upgrade options (beachfront villa / extended stay / sole occupancy), deposit, payment plan and terms and conditions when you register. A non-refundable deposit of $500 will be required to secure your space.
COVID-19 - Quarantine free travel in both directions started in January 2022 and it is currently a Cook Islands requirement that all visitors are fully vaccinated. We do not know what may occur between now and May 2023 but in the unlikely event of Cook Islands or NZ Government restrictions that prevent the retreat taking place we will work with guests to explore alternative dates or credits. We recommended that you arrange suitable travel and medical insurance.
